Excel Setup Instructions

For Excel2DWG to create output files, its add-in module has to be added to Excel.

Important: If you have file extensions turned off (the ridiculous Windows default) you will need to right-click the files to make sure you are selecting the correct XLA/XLAM file.

Office 2010-2013:

  1. Open the Office application.
  2. Click the File tab in the top left.
  3. In the bottom left, choose the Options button.
  4. Choose the Add-Ins tab on the left.
  5. Make sure the lower left popdown says Excel Add-Ins and choose the Go button.
  6. Choose the Browse button.
  7. Navigate to the Excel2DWG folder.
  8. Choose the Excel2DWG.xlam file.
  9. If prompted to copy the file to a user folder, choose No.
  10. Make sure there is a checkmark on Excel2DWG, then choose OK.

Office 2007:

  1. Open the Office application.
  2. Click the round Office button in the top left.
  3. In the bottom right, choose the Excel Options button.
  4. Choose the Add-Ins tab on the left.
  5. Make sure the lower left popdown says Excel Add-Ins and choose the Go button.
  6. Choose the Browse button.
  7. Navigate to the Excel2DWG folder.
  8. Choose the Excel2DWG.xlam file.
  9. If prompted to copy the file to a user folder, choose No.
  10. Make sure there is a checkmark on Excel2DWG, then choose OK.

Office 2000-2003:

  1. Open the Office application.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
  3. Choose the Browse button.
  4. Navigate to the Excel2DWG folder.
  5. Choose the Excel2DWG.xla file.
  6. If prompted to copy the file to a user folder, choose No.
  7. Make sure there is a checkmark on Excel2DWG, then choose OK.
