This section details about shared relationships and properties of the alignments and related objects in MapWorks.
Alignment Objects:
- The alignments in MapWorks can be CAD Polylines, either LW or 3D.
- Before a polyline is considered an alignment, it must contain tag information identifying it's name and other information, see the Alignment Tag Relatives tool.
Related Objects:
- Block Inserts and other polylines (such as EOP, etc) can be related to the Alignment. These objects must have an Extended Data field of
CTRNAM
with a value that matches the Alignment name. Use the Extended Data Editor to select these objects and add the designation.
Special Xdata Fields:
CTRNAM
indicates the Alignment Name to which an object is related.OBJNAM
which may be used in other operations such as Alignment Sample.
Additional Commands:
- The transparent 'SO2 and 'SO3 can be used to feed points to CAD commands. For example, when a circle command asks for a center point, you can enter 'SO2 and then be prompted for the alignment, station and offset. The calculated coordinate is then fed to the CAD engine and you can continue.
