Averages multiple points allowing the creation of a new point at the averaged coordinates.
Keyboard Command: PntEdtAvg
Section Details:
- Designate Points: Used to specify the point numbers. The buttons described below can simplify the string building process.
- < Select: Temporarily dismisses the dialog allowing the user to select specific points.
- Group: Presents a child dialog allowing the user to select a predefined point group.
- Find All: Builds a point string of all the points in the drawing/project.
The description match field allows you isolate only points within that range that matches a description.
- Results: This area displays the average coordinates and allows control over the average. The left two columns are control (explained below), the remainder are information only.
- Changing the toggle in the first column determines whether the point is considered in the average.
- Using the second column, you can change the weight applied to a point. You can use a factor from 1 to 9. Increasing the weight pulls the average point toward that point.
- As you toggle points (or change weights) the average point moves. If a point is toggled off, no line is drawn from it. When you close the dialog (by creating a point or not) the temp graphics disappear.
- Final Point:
- Number: The number used when creating the new point.
- Description: The description used when creating the new point. You can enter a string or use the popdown to choose from the descriptions of the points being averaged.
- Group: The point group to assign. You can enter a new group name or use the popdown to choose from previously created groups.
- Delete: If this toggle is on, all points designated at the top are removed before the new point is created.
