This tool is used to place a point table in the drawing. After placement the parameters and columns can be modified and the table updated with the Update Linked Objects command.
Keyboard Command: PntInqTbl
The tables created are initially based on template drawings (*.dwg) which are stored in the applications Data folder. The file names (must) begin with PntTbl. You can modify any existing template (to change fonts, table styles) and you can create your own.
Note: Keep in mind the files must exist in the Data folder and must begin with PntTbl!
Once a point table has been created in the drawing, you can use CAD tools to insert or delete columns and MapWorks will still update them. The update process is column header based, meaning the header text controls the data that the application puts in that column. To see an example of all currently available columns, see the PntTblTot.dwg file in the Data folder.

Procedure:
- Open the drawing containing points and an optional point group.
- Initiate this tool.
- Optionally choose an alignment from the list or pick it in the drawing.
- Select the desired template drawing.
- Optionally choose a point group.
- Optionally change the title text.
- Click the button to begin placement.
Notes:
- After a table is placed, you can use the Extended Data Edit tool to change point groups, etc.
- If you choose an alignment, this tool will attempt to select a template to match (ending in ALI). It will also modify the title text to allow the alignment name to be placed (and updated) in the table.
- Optionally choose a point group, the <ALL> group places all points in the table.
- You can use tools in your CAD engine to modify the table, including the spanning of multiple columns, etc.
- Manually changes to the tables title can be replaced when it is updated.
