This tool forms sections in the model by sampling predefined surface(s) at specified increments.
Keyboard Command: SecSmpSur

Procedure:
- Choose a predefined centerline using the popdown list.
- Select the predefined surface(s) to sample using the check list.
- Enter a name for the section series or take the default (see notes).
- Build a list of stations to sample (see notes).
- Choose additional options as desired.
- Click the button to begin processing.
Notes:
- The Section Series string must contain [SurNam], the program will substitute the surface name during processing.
- Stations lists can quickly be built using one of the methods in the adjacent station list builder.
- The (+) option lets you specify starting/ending values and an interval.
- The (...) option lets you select an existing series (tied to the same centerline) to match stations in that series.
- Sample Distance defines the distance along the section (left/right) to sample points. This will equate to the (horizontal) distance between the points in section view. Use a smaller number for smoother sections.
- The Minimum Left & Maximum Right values should be set to previously determined values. If the number is too high the routine could pick up undesired points, especially in (near) U shaped curves.
