Surface Label Contours

Label contours polylines using multiple options (MapWorks) or Import/Export AECC_SURFACE_CONTOUR_LABEL_GROUP objects on Civil3D.

Keyboard Command: SurConLab

C3DTools:

• Details: Provides a detailed list of LabelGroup properties.
• Export: Exports locations of selected contour label groups to a CLC file.
• Import: Imports locations from a CLC to (re)create label groups.
• Objects: Adds LabelGroups along the points of selected linear objects.

MapWorks on BricsCAD v21 and Higher:

• Distance: The distance interval along major contours to place labels.
• Ends: Automatically labels both ends of open major contours.
• Remove: Before creating labels, removes old labels (placed with this tool).

MapWorks (All Other CAD Engines):

• Ends: Automatically labels both ends of a selection set of polylines.
• Individual: Places a single label by picking an elevation point (on a contour) and an alignment point (for rotation).
• Multiple: Labels multiple contours by picking across them. If the interval value is 0.0, all intersecting contours are labeled. If you want to label index contours only, simply specify the contour interval.

Notes:

• The MText objects generated are field based. That means you can move or copy the labels and the value will change on the next regeneration.
• The MText labels have the background mask turned on. This means it will hide the underlying contour without any damage.
