Converts a single arc to a 3D polyline with interpolated elevations along the polyline. This can be very useful in spiral staircases, 3D transitioning surfaces, and road designs.
Keyboard Command: CnvArc3dp
Procedure:
- Select a single arc to convert.
- Enter the acceptable middle ordinate value to use in creating the newly created 3D polyline, the smaller the value, the the smoother the curve.
- Enter the elevation at the first point on the arc, or press P to pick a point with the desired elevation. A temporary marker will be placed to show which end.
- Enter/Pick the elevation at the second point on the arc.
- Designate whether to reverse the XY direction of the 3D polyline, causing it to travel from the second point back to the first.
- Designate if you would like the 3D polyline splined. If adequate segments are created, and the 3D polyline is splined, it creates a well formed 3D polyline, even splined in the 'Z' direction.
