This tool does character recognition (OCR) of all or selected areas of an image. As the character strings are determined we spell check them for accuracy and display all strings in the dialog (strings with misspelled words are shown in red) for extremely quick correction. The results are mtext objects ready for additional edits if necessary.
Keyboard Command: ImgOcrChr

Procedure:
- Open the drawing containing the image(s) to process.
- Initiate the Character Recognition tool.
- Click the button and pick an image.
- Designate the area to process. If an inside option is chosen, you need to follow up by picking the adjacent button and designate the object or rectangle.
- Click the button to evaluate and generate the mtext objects.
- Review the list in the grid for lines shown in red and make adjustments as needed.
Notes:
- After clicking on a row in the spelling section, it will appear below ready for editing. You may type replacement text in the lower left. However the fastest way should be to simply click the word that is misspelled, then click the replacement word in the list on the lower right.
- This tool ships with only support for detecting US English characters. Contact us for foreign language support.
- Some strings may be shown in red that are spelled correctly and vice-versa (some may not be red but need spell corrections).
