When the command line version begins, it echoes the current number of groups in the drawing. The various options under the command are briefly documented below. On certain commands there will be additional relevant information in the dialog documentation above.
Keyboard Command: ObjGrpCmd
- ?: Lists all or a filtered selection of groups in the current drawing. Simply press enter to list all groups.
- Create: Creates a new group in the drawing. Either enter a valid name or enter * to create an anonymous group. If a mark was previously placed, all objects created after the mark are automatically added to the group. Otherwise you will be prompted to select objects.
- Entities:
- Add: Used to add objects to a group. Specify a valid group name, then select objects to add.
- Highlight: Highlights all objects in a specified group. A redraw will restore the display.
- List: Lists the objects in a group in the exact format of AutoCAD's LIST command.
- Remove: Used to remove objects from a group. Specify a valid group name, then select objects to remove.
- Find: Lists the groups a specified object belongs to.
- Other:
- Backup: Saves group information to selected objects.
- Mark: Places a mark in the current drawing/layout for adding to the next created group.
- Purge: Provides an option to remove all groups or only those that are empty.
- Restore: Restores group information from selected objects.
- Select: Selects (and grips) objects contained in a specified group.
- Properties:
- Name: Changes a group name, you can enter * to change to an anonymous group.
- Description: Changes the description of a specified group.
- Selectable: Changes the selectable property of a specified group.
- Ungroup: Removes a specified group from the drawing. The objects are not affected other than no longer belonging to the specified group.
- Zoom: Zooms the current viewport to the extents of the specified group.
