Speed -vs- Appearance:
This product has the ability to produce a near perfect likeness of the Word document inside the drawing, but often at a cost in speed.
- Increased Accuracy: If your primary concern is making the drawing match the appearance of the document, remove any style name from the font override to insure that the program uses truetype fonts.
- Increased Speed: Because AutoCAD must scale truetype fonts and handle situations like rotation, it processes them slowly. You can significantly speed up the process by establishing a SHX based text style and setting it as the default.
Modifying Bookmarks:
The text area linked to the drawing is a named bookmark in Word. If you insert/delete rows/cols inside the initial area, Word automatically expands/contracts the named bookmark. So that if you later do an Word2CAD update, the new (or removed) text will show.
However if you begin typing a new text outside the previous window (such as a new line on the bottom), Word does not change the range. To include these new lines (or any other window changes) use this procedure in Word.
- Highlight the desired text in Word.
- Choose Insert > Bookmark.
- Highlight the appropriate Word2CAD###### in the list.
- Choose OK to change the range.
