Attribute Export/Highlight/Recall

This tool exports block attributes to the currently open spreadsheet and provides a mechanism to recall the changes. It sorts the selected blocks based on the X/Y coordinate for a left-right, top-down order.

Keyboard Command:

Export Procedure:

1. Open the drawing containing the blocks.
2. Open Excel and place your cell cursor in the desired starting position.
3. Initiate the Block Export tool.
4. Select inserts of a single block definition.

Import Procedure:

1. Open the drawing containing the blocks.
2. Open Excel and load the spreadsheet containing data created by Block Export.
3. Window the data you wish to recall in the spreadsheet.
4. Initiate the Block Import tool.

Highlight Procedure:

1. Open the drawing containing the blocks.
2. Open Excel and load the spreadsheet containing data created by Block Export.
3. Place your Excel cursor in a single cell.
4. Initiate the Block Highlight tool.
5. Press Enter to continue.

Notes:

• This tool exports the data columns in the order in the block definition.
• Each cell contains information needed to recall the data. This allows you to cut/paste and/or move or sort cells without negatively affecting recall.
