This tool exports block attributes to the currently open spreadsheet and provides a mechanism to recall the changes. It sorts the selected blocks based on the X/Y coordinate for a left-right, top-down order.
Keyboard Command:
Export Procedure:
- Open the drawing containing the blocks.
- Open Excel and place your cell cursor in the desired starting position.
- Initiate the Block Export tool.
- Select inserts of a single block definition.
Import Procedure:
- Open the drawing containing the blocks.
- Open Excel and load the spreadsheet containing data created by Block Export.
- Window the data you wish to recall in the spreadsheet.
- Initiate the Block Import tool.
Highlight Procedure:
- Open the drawing containing the blocks.
- Open Excel and load the spreadsheet containing data created by Block Export.
- Place your Excel cursor in a single cell.
- Initiate the Block Highlight tool.
- Press Enter to continue.
Notes:
- This tool exports the data columns in the order in the block definition.
- Each cell contains information needed to recall the data. This allows you to cut/paste and/or move or sort cells without negatively affecting recall.
