🔗ArcGIS Legacy Engine (AGLE) Options for SurvPC Esri

Carlson offers two ArcGIS OEM engine options:

  1. 🔗Basic: The ArcGIS Basic engine runs the basic set of tools to enable and get acquainted with the ArcGIS environment. It has tools to visualize, manipulate, and create maps.
  2. 🔗Advanced: The ArcGIS Advanced engine provides the standard toolset within the ArcGIS environment and allows for more workflow customization, data management, and security:
    • 🔗Related tables is a concept where a change in one table automatically makes changes in the related tables (Authors as a table and Novels as another table for example). These changes will be made automatically using the Advanced engine.
    • 🔗Versioning allows for only a subset of users permitted to make changes to an ArcMap document. If an ArcMap document (.mxd) comes from the ArcGIS server, it may come with a version designation, which has limitations on who is allowed to change the ArcMap document and database.
    • 🔗The Advanced Engine also affects aspects of topology. If one node is moved, multiple other features may change automatically. The topology reactors are more advanced with the Advanced Engine.

Users have the ability to choose which OEM engine to install.
