This feature allows you to manually enter or edit coordinates in the current job file or the current Control file.
- Source: When a linked Control File is associated with the job, indicate where the new point(s) or edit should be sent.
- Point ID: Indicate the point name (number).
- Northing, Easting, Elevation: Indicate the Y, X and Z values of the point, respectively.
- Description: The standard Code List can be used to set the description of the point and when coupled with a related Feature Code can automate symbol and/or linework as displayed in the Map Screen.
- Prev: Moves to the previous point within the Source file.
- Next: Moves to the next point within the Source file.
- Store: Commits the current values into the Source file.
Note: If you are editing an existing point and press Store, SurvPC will warn you that the point number has already been used. You then have a choice to overwrite this point number or use a new number.
Note: If you are editing an existing point that was obtained from instrument measurements (a practice that is not advised) and press Store, SurvPC will warn that the previous Raw Data for the point will be lost.
More Information
- Utilities: Launches a dialog box that allows the user to Modify or Delete a point or range of points:
There are two uses of the command:
- to Modify the Descriptions (which can also be specified through the standard Code List dialog box) of a point or range of points, or,
- to Delete a point or range of points.
For example, if you wished to assign the description of G to points 1001 thru 1100 and points 1151 thru 1200 and point 1234, you distinguish point ranges with a dash (-) and groups of data with a comma (,). Once specified, tap Modify and respond to the resulting alert confirmation screen.
Note: Points can also be specified through the standard Point List and/or Map Screen pick.
