The System tab allows you to specify the coordinate system projection to reference the surveyed points.
- Projection: Specify an already established Projection that is associated with the job or use the Edit Projection List button to add a new projection.
- Projection Type: Indicates the characteristics associated with the projection.
- Datum: Indicates the datum associated with the projection.
- Ellipsoid: Indicates the ellipsoid associated with the projection.
Note: The selected Projection (commonly associated with GNSS work) can impact adjustment of total station traverses and sideshots. For Raw Data Processing commands, the option to Reduce to Grid Coordinates can be selected. This will compute the combined scale factor at each endpoint of a traverse or sideshot, and then take the average combined scale factor and apply it to the measurement. Similarly, curvature and refraction can be applied as well. In this way, traverses from one known grid coordinate to another will achieve more accurate closures.
