About SurvPC

Among other things, this command allows you to view information about Carlson SurvPC, the registration status and the ability to Check for Software Updates.

• Helmet

  The Helmet icon provides access to some additional commonly desired features not previously discussed in the Helmet section:

  About Carlson - Helmet Options

  64-bit	32-bit

  • Default User Settings: Provides options to reset the following to default conditions:
    • Reset User Warnings^†
    • Reset Job Settings to Defaults^†

    ^†Note: You will be asked to confirm the action.

  • Data Collector Info: Provides information about the data collector/PC that may be useful for diagnosing technical support issues.
  • Esri ArcGIS: (32-bit version only) Initiates the ability to configure SurvPC for the type of ArcGIS Legacy Engine (AGLE) to use with SurvPC.
  • Orientation: Provides the option to force a particular display orientation of the user interface.
  • Check for Software Update: With an active Internet connection, SurvPC will attempt to determine if an updated version of the product is available for download (including internal development/test builds).

    Note: You may be challenged for a password to access interim builds.

  • Release Notes: Provides a summary of recent fixes and improvements to the product.
• Update Registered User

  Use this option to update a change of Email address and opt-in to update notifications:

  Opens the SurvPC product registration dialog box:

  

  • Add: Use this option to add (i.e. a purchased serial number to a previous 30-day evaluation serial number.
  • Remove: Use this option to remove (i.e. a previous 30-day evaluation serial number from use.

    Note: At least one serial number needs to be entered in this dialog for the program to function.

  • Copy to Clipboard: Copies the selected serial number to the Windows clipboard (helpful for use in software lookups).
  • Register: Initiates the Registration process on the selected serial number.
  • Download: Navigates to the Carlson Software Downloads page where the current version of the product can be downloaded.
  • Check for updates: Initiates a check to see if a publicly released update is available.
  • Find Upgrade: Used mainly for the desktop CAD products, this will check to see if a new version upgrade is available.
  • Network Licenses: Used mainly for the desktop CAD products, this accesses the integrated Network License Manager tools to display available licenses on the server, show users using the license; commute (borrow) or return committed license.
• Change Language

  Permits a desired and supported language to be specified:
