The Align Settings command allows you to select between two methods of aligning buildings when using the Align Building - One Segment command.
- Offset-Distance: Aligns buildings parallel to the sideline based on a sideline offset and a distance offset along the sideline to the front of the building.
- L2 parallel to L1 at specified offset, and
- Extension of B1-B2 intersects L1 at distance from P2 along L1.
- Offset-Offset: Holds the building parallel to the sideline but ensures that the frontage offset to the selected corner of the building matches the second offset value.
- L2 parallel to L1 at specified first offset, and
- B2-B1 offset from P2-P1 at specified second offset.
Note: This method requires a continuous polyline L1-P2-P1 and a continuous polyline L2-B2-B1. If the segments are not continuous, the Join command can be used to connect them. Alternatively, use the Align - Two Segments command.
- P1 - P2: Front property line.
- B1 - B2: Building front line.
- L1: Side lot line.
- L2: Side building line.
Note: If a selected segment is an arc, the chord of the arc will be used for alignment and offset calculations.
