The 2D Polyline command (and its Sketch variant when the Sketch option is enabled) permits you to draw a multi-sided polyline with each vertex sharing an elevation value of zero (Z=0).
Options
Pick point or point ID
Indicate the starting location for the polyline based on an entity snap or by specifying an existing point ID (number). Prompting switches to:-Arc/Close/Undo/+/-/Len/<End>
- Arc: Starts an arc segment.
After starting an arc, the command line will change to:
CEn/Len/Sec/<Rad>
- CEn: Allows you to specify the center point (or radius point) for the arc. After picking the center point, you must specify the arc end point and then the arc direction.
- LEn: Allows you to specify the arc length. First you pick the arc end point and then you can enter the arc length. The minimum arc length is given to you.
- SEc: Allows you to specify the second point and end point to define the arc.
- RAd: Allows you to specify a radius length. First you pick the arc end point and then you can enter the radius length. The minimum radius length is given to you.
- Close: Closes the polyline.
Note: You must have at least two polyline segments drawn before you can close
- Undo: Removes the last segment drawn.
Note: You can Undo again and remove multiple segments.
- +: Perpendicular distance to the right.
- -: Perpendicular distance to the left.
- Len: Specify an optional new direction and distance.
The command line will change to:
aZi/Brg/Ang/L/R/toPoint/<Len>
- aZi: Specify a desired azimuth.
- Brg: Specify a desired bearing.
- Ang: Specify a desired angle (functionally equivalent to azimuth).
- L: Alters the current direction by 90° to the left (ccw).
- R: Alters the current direction by 90° to the right (cw).
- toPoint: Sets the current direction to the specified point.
- Len: Indicate the length (distance) to travel.
- End: Terminates the polyline and ends the command.
- Arc: Starts an arc segment.
Note: You can also draw by point number and even use ranges, as in 3-10,2,20-15 which would draw from 3-10 sequentially, then point 2, then 20-15 sequentially.
Note: During the polyline creation process, you can access other common controls; most notably the various Map Screen View Controls and Entity Snaps.
