Remove Arcs

The Remove Arcs command replaces arc segments in polylines with a series of chords and is primarily used for applications that do not support 2D arc segments. Prompts consist of:

  1. Select polyline Graphically pick the polyline that contains arcs that are to be replaced.
  2. -Offset cutoff <[numerical value]> Specify a maximum separation distance between the chord and the original arc (essentially, the allowable mid-ordinate distance).

Note: Large radius arcs with a small Offset Cutoff value can add an excessive number of vertices to the polyline.

Note: 3D Polylines with arcs and 3D arcs created by Special Codes are represented by chord segments and will not respond to this command.

Note: There is no Undo for this command and caution is urged prior to proceeding. If you wish to experiment first, use the Copy command to make a clone of the source polyline.
