The Import DWG command allows you to import the contents of a DWG file into the Map screen. The process involves two main steps:
- The standard File Selector command launches that permits you to locate the desired DWG file.
- An Import DWG Options dialog box is presented that provides additional control over the type of content to import:
Options in this dialog box are identical to those discussed and found within Import DXF with the exception of the following:
- Import Esri GIS Data: When enabled, any Esri® MSC data contained within the DWG file will be added to the SurvPC Job.
Note: This data can then be edited, and new features and attributes can be added to the Map. Then the Export DWG command will return the full drawing with associated attributes back to MSC-compliant applications.
- Import Esri GIS Data: When enabled, any Esri® MSC data contained within the DWG file will be added to the SurvPC Job.
Note: Upon importing the content, you may need to issue a Zoom - Extents to see the new content.
Note: If the imported drawing was saved with externally referenced drawings (XREFs), they will be accessible via the Reference Drawings command.
