The Carlson Cloud command (not to be confused with the Carlson Point Cloud module) is an Internet/cloud-based routine designed to easily facilitate sending messages, data files and crew locations between the office and Internet-connected field devices running Carlson SurvCE or Carlson SurvPC.
Features
Among other things, Carlson Cloud offers the following capabilities:
- Messaging from Office to Field Staff and Peer-to-Peer
- File Transfer from Office to Field Staff and Peer-to-Peer
- Crew View for viewing of Rover Positions in particular when using GNSS equipment on Grid Coordinates
- For SurvPC only, Data Storage into the Same Job File (CRD File) by multiple Survey Crews
Cloud Login

To access the service once an account has been established, perform the following:
- Username:† Provide the username you established during account creation.
- Password:† Provide the password you established during account creation.
†Note: These values are Case-Sensitive!
Note: The password is not "masked" during data entry so use caution around others!
- Click the Log In button.
Other Pre-Login Controls
- New User: Use this to create an initial account or add a new user to an existing account.

- For each company, an account can be established using the option New User:
Create New Carlson Cloud Account - The first user in a company needs to establish the Company Key word, ideally something unique so there is little or no potential for other companies to log into the same name:
Create Carlson Cloud Company Key Subsequent users will use the existing Company Key:
Use Existing Company Key Note: A suggestion might be the Company Name and the last 4-digits of the main telephone number (e.g. Doe1212).
- Each user within the company should have their own name and password.
- For each company, an account can be established using the option New User:
- Forgot User Name: Assists with account recovery.

To retrieve your user name, you'll need to specify the Company Key† to which you are affiliated:

If valid, results will be returned which permits you to browse the available user names and select the correct entry:
Forgot User Name Results Note: If you don't recall your Company Key, follow the Forgot Password - Account Recovery procedure.
Selecting the correct result and pressing ✅ will return the result to the Log In screen.
- Delete User: Permits the removal of an individual from the service.

Using Carlson Cloud
Once logged into the service, you can communicate with other members who are part of your Company Key profile name and also exchange files with them. Click the paper clip to attach a file and then tap Send. The recipient will obtain a notice and can download or discard the file.

- Refresh: Use this control to attempt delivery of any messages that are queued to be processed.
- Settings: Permits configuration settings to further control various aspects of Carlson Cloud, including Crew View.
- Send To: Indicate the person or group of persons to whom you'd like to send information.
- Groups: Multiple users can be assigned to a named group.

Manage User Groups
Manage Groups User Groups:
- Add: Type the name of a Group you'd like to create and click the Add button to create the Group.
- Edit: Select a Group name and use the right and left arrows to add or remove individuals from the group.
- Delete: Select the Group you'd like to remove and click the Delete button to remove it.
Note: You will be prompted to confirm the deletion of the Group.
- Log off: Use this control to sign-out of Carlson Cloud.
Note: While logged out of Carlson Cloud, any "chats" or data files sent to you are held in-transit until you next log into Carlson Cloud.
- Send: Use this control to initiate a chat or file transfer.
- Attach (paper-clip): This launches the standard File Selector dialog box that permits a file to be selected for transfer.
Note: The positions of crew members update about once every 5 minutes.
