The Helmet control provides access to a variety of commonly used routines that vary based on the underlying command and typically takes one of the three forms:

Selecting an option from the available list will either run a specified command or perform the described action task.
Helmet Command Summary
- Help: This is a Help index. If loaded to the SurvPC module, it will launch to HTML pages of this user manual.
- View Data: This allows the user to view the current data sets. Either:
- Points: This allows viewing and editing of the current list of Points.
- Inverse: This allows for the inverse to be run on stored points.
- Write Note: This allows the user to write and save a note that further describes aspects of the job.
- Feature Codes: This allows the user to quickly enter the Feature Code List command.
- Calculator: This launches the SurvPC Calculator application.
- Reconnect: This is a quick way to reestablish a lost Bluetooth connection.
- Carlson Cloud: This will take the user to the Carlson Cloud Login page.
- Freeze Points / Thaw Points: This allows the user to quickly freeze and thaw points shown in live survey screens (Store / Stake Points).
- Advanced Settings: This will allow the user to configure a variety of Advanced Settings.
- Map: Switches to the Map Screen.
- Text: This will allow the user to switch the mode to Text View.
- Minimize: This will minimize SurvPC on the screen and allow the user to launch other PC programs.
