For on-the-fly numerical calculations, SurvPC offers quick access to its Calculator routine and further allow the Copy/Paste of any selected calculation result back into the dialog edit-control. Depending on the Use Virtual Keyboard option:
- Virtual Keyboard Turned Off: Typing the ? (question mark) character from virtually any dialog edit-control in the program will launch the calculator:
- Virtual Keyboard Turned On: Use the Calculator icon to the left of ✅ to access the calculator:
Example
Suppose you are tasked with grading a site that has four subgrades with a modeled top surface. You need to grade the lowest subgrade surface to a vertical offset of (-0.33-0.5-0.33-0.25) from the supplied day-light surface model. Quickly obtain the value by entering ? in the Vertical Offset field within the Elevation Difference dialog, as shown above.
This leads immediately to the Quick Calculator dialog:
Using the Standard tab, we can enter -0.33-0.5-0.33-0.25 and then "=". From here, use Copy/Paste functionality to return the result:
