PDGrade UI Overview

The PDGrade user interface is organized into the following views

  1. Info View

The Info View lays out valuable information in text form at the top of the screen. There are three boxes that can be filled with up to 4 lines of text each. The information shown can be customized or can be set via 3 presets (Simple, Standard, Complex). For PDGrade, there are two modes for the Info View. One is Navigating, to be used while not piling. And the other is Piling, to be used while hammering a pile. Text information like Pile ID, distance to target, RTK quality can be shown here.

  2. 3D View

The 3D View is the world view of the project. Project files like linework and pile designs will show on the screen with the current vehicle position. The view can be operated in 3D mode which will show everything in a 3D world, or it can be operated in 2D mode which will show everything from top-down planview perspective.

  3. Target View

The Target View shows navigational information for the currently selected pile design. The crosshairs represent the current hammer position and the center circle is the current pile design position. When aligned in tolerance, the crosshairs will turn green. The outside target circle is representative of two feet radius around the target position. The slider at the top of the view is the Azimuth Slider. It shows the current azimuth’s relation with the target azimuth of the pile. The slider on the right is the Mast Tilt Slider for Front/Back. It shows the current front/back tilt of the mast in relation with the target tilt of the pile. The slider on the bottom is the Mast Tilt Slider for Left/Right. It shows the current left/right tilt of the mast in relation with the target tilt of the pile. The bubble in the sliders will be red when the corresponding item is out of tolerance and then turn green when in tolerance.

  4. Status Bar

The Status Bar shows indicators for current statuses and other useful information. Indicators for GPS status (satellite icon) and streaming (Carlson icon) are shown. Clicking on these icons will take you to the appropriate Monitor page. For PDGrade, the current project and the current working pile folder will be shown as text. In the case of an error (RTK lost lock, No Sensor Data, No Vermeer Connection, etc), the status bar will turn red with the text of the error.

  5. Toolbar

The toolbar contains a dynamic selection of buttons used to operate grade. The buttons that appear in the toolbar may change with the context of the program. In Grade's main view, the toolbar buttons shown can be customized. To change which buttons appear in the Grade toolbar, refer to Grade's Toolbar Settings
